Floor installation in Faifield County
The first step we use to install hardwood flooring is to lay down a vapor barrier which prevents too much moisture from contacting the flooring and creating cupping or mounds in the hardwood.
We then check the moisture level of the hardwood either our customers or we have ordered for the flooring project. This ensures that the wood is well acclimated to the environment in which it will be placed and that we aren’t thrown off by any surprises later down the line.
Once we’ve ensured the base surface is leveled, we go ahead and install the hardwood flooring using a power nailer. After the flooring is installed, we reinstall the trim to finish up the room.
Our hardwood floor installation can be done on concrete foundations or concrete slabs with the expertise of our certified and licensed flooring contractors.
For flooring types that are installed on concrete foundations or slabs, it’s best to apply a concrete sealer to prevent any extra moisture from passing through to the wood and cause cupping. For this we use and recommend polyethylene based product sealers or coatings.
Because this polyethylene base acts as an adhesive, it’s critical to move fast and install the flooring in a timely fashion. That’s why it may seem that our contractors work faster during hardwood floor installation with glue.
